CHOOSE BETHANY

Why Choose Bethany?

Our Current Students Choose Bethany Because:Ashley_Marie_Wiebe_RA

“Because nurturing disciples and training leaders to serve is not a catchphrase to promote Bethany, it  is precisely what is done here.” (Ashley Marie Wiebe, 2nd year, Saskatoon, SK) Picture:

Colin_Choose_Bethany“Bethany has done incredible things in shaping my character and has challenged me to be a  better person.  I have come a long way and I feel like I have really embraced my opportunity to be a leader in this school and that people look up to me.  Four years ago, I could not have predicted my change or seen myself as someone who would be looked up to and yet that is the desire that has been growing in me over my years.  (If I get this award or not,) I am sure that I will be involved in ministry of some sort and looking to be a person of influence wherever I go.”   (Colin Willms, Saskatoon, SK, Student Development Department)

“The women’s soccer team has played a huge role in my life over the past three years.  Through the  soccer team, I have learned what a true Christian community looks like and how to care for those who are hurting.  I have learned that character, integrity and hard work are more important than winning a game. The team was a place where I could be honest, be myself, grow, challenge myself, improve on my skills, and learn to be a leader.” (Mandy Nemanishen, Langham, SK, 4th year, Women’s Outdoor Soccer Captain)Mandy_soccer

Previous Students (Alumni) have said:

  • …after being established in a career for three years, I sensed an undeniable calling to come to Bethany… I had no clear direction for why I was to go to Bible School but simply had to trust that God knew what he was doing….It’s been exciting to see God strip away bonds that used to entangle and even more exciting to see him work through gifts I never knew he had given me. (Kendall Friesen, 2005) More on Kendall Friesen
  • Bethany has been like a best friend, constantly comforting, encouraging, producing and pushing you to higher heights.  To accept where you are is to become stagnant and dormant.  Bethany has constantly facilitated growth and for that I am thankful. (Craig Glen,  Hepburn, SK 2003)
  • I have been challenged through many lectures, many chapels and through many people.  I have definitely grown more in my walk with Christ.  I look to God as my father and friend now rather than just someone I ask to forgive me.  (Susan, 2003)
  • Bethany has pushed me to grow in God and seek him out.  The relationships that I have developed have pushed me to examine myself and my surroundings.  (Dallas Stobbe, Killarney, MB, 2003)
  • Bethany has been instrumental in my spiritual growth.  I’ve learned things about God, His love for me and His word that are irreplaceable.  When I came to Bethany, I wanted to be a different person when I left, and I can now confidently say that I am.   (Elise Dyck, Winnipeg, MB)
  • People always talk about how good of a place Bethany is to grow.  I thought that they were merely just trying to people to come.  The thing is Bethany is a phenomenal place to grow.  I have learned so much here not just with classes but everyday interaction with my friends here. (Daniel Bushman, 2 year student, Watrous, SK)
  • There are so many areas of Bethany in which you experience spiritual growth.  Everyone is there to grow and help you grow.  It’s a family thing! Daniel, 2002-06, Killarney, MB
  • Bethany has deeply challenged my integrity, forcing me to own what I believe and to try to live like I mean it.   (Simon Friesen, Dalmeny, SK, 2000-2004)
  • Faith here has been incredibly stretching and testing, but unbelievable profound and rewarding.  I wouldn’t trade for anything.  (Christina Peters, Coaldale, AB  BA Grad)

What Alumni are saying about their experience at Bethany:

Alumni are an important part of Bethany.  Bethany’s alumni is over 7,000 strong, comprised of pervious students from Bethany, and its two amalgamated schools; Coaldale Bible School, and Herbert Bible School.   We have a section of the website dedicated to Alumni.

  • “As a kid, I remember going to Bethany with my parents for events/music or when the Chorale would come to our church and thinking about how I wanted to go to Bethany when I graduated.  That dream became a reality and I ended up at Bethany for 3 years (96-99).  My reason for going to Bible School was to grow in my faith and learn about God/the Bible.  I ended up doing both of those as well as being blessed far more, growing in self-confidence, making amazing friends (including my husband) and having amazing experiences.  Bethany was life changing for me and I am so grateful and blessed by my experience.  It was well worth every cent.  I sure hope I can send my kids there someday for an experience like I had.”  (Lorraine Mau, Guernsey, SK)
  • “As a family, we are grateful to Bethany for the impact it has made in our lives. As a Couple, we first met at Bethany and made many wonderful memories and friends.” (Carl and Marj (Pauls) Klassen, Glenbush SK ) more in Alumni updates
